Zizhen's father nods a greeting to Jingyi, but he's clearly a little taken aback by the enthusiasm - when Zizhen told them he'd fallen for a Lan, this isn't exactly what he expected. Still, he can see why his son is so taken with the boy.

Before he gets a chance to say anything disapproving, his attention is drawn by Xichen, who's saving both Jingyi and Wei Wuxian with his sacrifice.

(Wuxian winces when he hears what Ouyang is saying, but he's grateful to Xichen for keeping the old man's attention)

Zizhen's mother, on the other hand, has an indulgent smile on her face and seems to actually approve of the joy that Jingyi shows her son, she greets him pleasantly before pointedly turning her attention to Xichen also, making sure to keep her husband occupied in the conversation, and giving the boys some small measure of privacy.

Zizhen is grinning fit to burst, and he leans over a little so he doesn't have to talk too loudly.

"After dinner, we should go for a walk." he suggests eagerly, desperate to get some alone time with Jingyi after being away from him for so long.
