The request makes her smile and she immediately gets a bowl of tea for him. She still puts a generous amount of honey in it, but there's no medicine in it this time. The fact the boy has an appetite at all is a good sign (even just one for drink vs food). She quietly helps again if he needs it to sip the small bowl, but otherwise she sits back and listens.
She knows from experience some 'good' men do terrible things sometimes. It's curious the boy is so adamant about saying only compliments toward his father. She wonders if that's all he feels he's allowed to say. The last part has her curious though.
